These are the rules for using mr CHUY. — the voice assistant at chuyvoice.com, operated by CleverAlpha LLC. We've kept the legalese to a minimum. If you use the app, you're agreeing to what's on this page. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
mr CHUY. is an AI voice assistant. You talk, Chuy responds. It can help you think through things, summarize what you say in Listen mode, translate between languages, email your contacts on your behalf, and a few other things we're adding over time. It runs in your browser and uses OpenAI's models to process voice and text in real time.
To use most features of mr CHUY. you give us your first name, last name, and email. We use that to greet you, to tie your saved contacts to your account, and to send the occasional email (you can always unsubscribe). We identify you using a signed cookie — not a password. Keep your browser to yourself, same as you would with any logged-in site.
If you let someone else use your browser session, anything they do with Chuy is on you. We can't tell two people apart by voice, and we don't try to.
Don't do any of this:
If you break these rules, we can suspend or terminate your access without notice. If the rule-breaking is severe or illegal, we may cooperate with law enforcement.
mr CHUY. is not a crisis service, therapist, or emergency responder. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified human:
If your conversation touches on certain sensitive topics (self-harm, violence, substance use, gambling, domestic violence, child safety, or serious criminal activity), mr CHUY. may surface these resources in the app. We do this because we care, not because we are a substitute for professional help.
What we don't do: we do not proactively contact law enforcement about what you say to mr CHUY. We do cooperate with valid legal process, and we report child sexual abuse material (CSAM) where legally required.
Persistent serious violations may result in account termination. Our policy is "Moderate": a small number of serious flags, or a larger number of lesser flags in a short window, triggers human review. A human on our team looks at the pattern before any action is taken. If your account is terminated you will receive an email explaining why, and you can appeal by replying to that email or writing to support@cleveralpha.com within 30 days. We'll respond within 5 business days.
Storage: we store flag metadata (category, severity, timestamp) to detect patterns. We do not archive transcript text solely for safety review. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture of what we store and why.
What you say stays yours. Transcripts, saved contacts, and anything you type in are your content. We don't claim ownership, and we don't sell it.
Chuy's responses. AI-generated replies aren't copyrightable in the traditional sense, and the same reply might surface for another user. Treat Chuy's output as a working draft, not a unique creative work with clear authorship.
We need a license to make the service work. By using mr CHUY., you grant CleverAlpha a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your content solely to provide, secure, and improve the service. That's it. We don't use your content to train AI models. We don't share it with advertisers. See the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
mr CHUY. uses large language models. These models:
You are responsible for how you act on anything Chuy says. We are not liable for decisions you make based on Chuy's output.
mr CHUY. has a free tier, a metered tier, and a bring-your-own-key tier. Current limits and prices are shown in the app's billing panel. By starting a paid plan, you authorize us (and our payment processor, Stripe) to charge the card on file until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the billing panel. Usage already incurred is non-refundable; unused portions of recurring fees are not prorated unless required by law.
Taxes are your responsibility unless we're required to collect them. If a charge fails, we may suspend paid features until it's resolved.
The mr CHUY. name, the CleverAlpha name, the jade-green branding, the interface, the code we wrote, and the content we created for this site are ours. You get a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service as it's intended. You don't get a license to our trademarks, and you don't get rights to our source code.
Third parties that make mr CHUY. work (OpenAI, Supabase, Vercel, Google Workspace, Stripe) retain their own rights to their own technology.
If you send us feedback, feature ideas, or bug reports, we can use them freely to improve the service. You don't owe us feedback, but if you send it, we'll treat it as non-confidential and license-free.
We are building this. Features can change, move, or be removed. Prices can change. We'll announce material changes in the app or by email. If you don't like a change, your remedy is to stop using the service.
When we update these terms, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes (new user obligations, material changes to billing, etc.) we'll show you a notice the next time you open the app. Continued use after the change means you accept the new terms.
You can stop using mr CHUY. at any time. Email support@cleveralpha.com if you want us to delete your account and associated data. We can suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, if we're required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. We'll try to give reasonable notice when we can.
We provide mr CHUY. as is and as available. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that Chuy's outputs will be accurate or suitable for your needs.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these disclaimers. In that case, the disclaimers apply to the fullest extent the law permits.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, CleverAlpha LLC and its officers, employees, and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or lost goodwill — arising out of your use of the service, even if we were told such damages were possible.
If despite the above we are found liable, our total aggregate liability for any claim is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits. If you're in one, the caps apply to the fullest extent the law permits.
If someone sues us because of how you used mr CHUY. — because you broke these terms, violated someone else's rights, or broke the law — you agree to cover our reasonable legal costs and any damages awarded against us that are attributable to your actions. We'll tell you promptly if we get a claim we think falls under this.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any lawsuit arising out of these terms or your use of mr CHUY. must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
Before filing anything, please email support@cleveralpha.com so we can try to resolve it directly. Most things can be sorted out with a conversation.
